[creative-radio] Master's program in Applied Community Change and Conservation

Dear Mr. Lessard:

I have been a fan of your listserv for many years, having been a volunteer environmental radio broadcaster on community stations here in the U.S. Thank you for all of the information that you share.

I now work for a non-profit organization (future.org) and an accredited graduate school (future.edu) based in rural West Virginia. Since 1992, Future Generations has specialized in community-based approaches to social change, health, conservation, and peace building.

We are trying to spread the word about our accredited Master's Degree program, which is designed for community development practitioners. My posting is below. Thank you for considering it for circulation.

Kind Regards,
Traci

[creative-radio] Programm: Program: Refugees have a Voice - Refugee Conference in Stuttgart

Program: Refugees have a Voice - Refugee Conference in Stuttgart

The participation of refugees is crucial for the struggle against
discrimination and injustice. In Baden-Württemberg
this process now is getting started as refugee communities are building up
in the different refugee camps.

We refuse arbitrary measures, hatred and double standard treatment of
refugees in Germany.

Refugees are invited to exchange their experience and commitments to
strengthen the ongoing refugee community
networking and self organization in camps as a core focus in the conference.

No one can tell the story better than the direct victims. Refugees are in
the best position to tell their stories from "why
they are here" and "what they are confronted with in this society".

Although individual refugees may be faced with problems seeming different
in nature, the whole situation boils down
to the German Lager politics that isolates, demoralizes and traumatizes.

The refugee politics in Baden-Württemberg is worse compared to most
federal states in Germany. Effecting change
requires sincere solidarity and a strong position of refugees. Otherwise
compromise will remain the order of the day.

Solidarity is the weapon and refugees are calling for sincere solidarity
with the ongoing campaign against camps, food
packages, restrictions to the freedom of movement and other forms of
discrimination and injustice against refugees.

[creative-radio] New Book: "Hitler's Radio War"

You probably remember Roger Tidy from a few years ago when he occasionally
contributed to Clandestine Radio Watch .

He just published a book "Hitler's Radio War".

------- Weitergeleitete Nachricht / Forwarded message -------

Von: Roger Tidy
Betreff: New Book: "Hitler's Radio War"

Hello

I have recently written a book entitled "Hitler's Radio War", which has just
been published. This book, based on archival research, is the story of the
external service of the wartime German radio (the RRG) and the
'personalities' who worked for it.

Many of the chapters are about clandestine radio.
The German Geheimsender covered include:
The New British Broadcasting Station; Workers' Challenge; the Christian
Peace Movement station; Radio Caledonia; Lenin's Old Guard; For Russia,
the Militant Union of Russian Nationalists; Station Debunk; Free nIndia
Radio, Free Moslem Radio and National Congress Radio (broadcsating to
India); and many more broadcasting to such countries as France,
Poland,Yugoslavia,Greece and the Middle East. There is also a list of
all known German clandestine stations from the Second World War period,
and a secret organisation chart of Buro Concordia. I believe that the
book is the most comprehensive account of German clandestine radio ever
published.

In addition there are chapters on Lord Haw-Haw, Mary of Arnhem and the
two women known as Axis Sally, as well as new information about
Kurtzwellensender Lil Malene.

The book, which is published in London by Robert Hale Ltd., can be
ordered from www.halebooks.com or from any reputable online bookstore.
http://www.halebooks.com/display.asp?K=9780709091493&pge=hale&st2=not+67351&sort=sort_date%2Fd&sf1=Keyword&sf2=lcode&x=22&st1=radio&y=7&m=1&dc=41

Best wishes

Roger Tidy
