Radio Station Manager Position Date: 2011-01-17, 11:25PM

CKLN Radio is hiring a Full-Time Station Manager. This is a unique Non-Union
contract position with administrative responsibilities including (not
limited to) office and staff management, external and internal
communications answering to the Board of Directors (NOT an on-air position).
Salary: 30-40K commensurate with experience. Candidates should have
non-profit and office/volunteer management experience and work in accordance
with CKLN bylaws and mandate and CRTC regulations. For job description

[creative-radio] RadioAsia2011 Conference (RAC2011)

RadioAsia2011 Conference (RAC2011) addresses on-going developments in radio
broadcasting content and services while highlighting the near future
opportunities and challenges. RA2011 will focus on the how these advances
will become instrumental in shaping radio as a global medium of choice for
mass audiences, as also for niche audiences.

Conference Structure

The event comprises four workshops, each spanning 90 minutes, addressing
current subjects of a practical nature.

Commencing with a special opening session, the conference will have ten
sessions covering two and a half days.

Conference Issues

Building on the new multi-platform radio for global audiences, the
conference will explore related issues in programming, marketing, regulatory
policies, and audience strategies, bringing together different ideas and
experiences on

· future role of radio as a global medium;

· paradigm shift in content programming, keeping in view interactivity as
well,

· the need for a healthy mix of public and commercial radio for serving
the needs of the traditional and new audiences and laying the foundation of
a

· sustainable and viable future for radio globally

· the impact of technical advancements on content and services in the age of
convergence

All we ask of you on that day is to do an arts project, however small or big. Be creative about an issue that you believe promotes "caring and sharing". Song, dance, theatre, draw, paint, write, make, poem, photogragh, lecture, walk, tour, talk, art class anyway that you feel you are creative!

The first years have seen WCAD grow from a celebration of Reg Bolton to a global event from as far as Brazil, Slovenia, Scotland, Australia, USA, Ireland, Mexico and many more. All we ask of you on that day is to do an arts project, however small or large to mark this day. If you can mark the event on your website in the build up to it that would be great to. It is going to be our biggest yet.

[creative-radio] Youth Radio Initiative - Lao People's Democratic Republic

*Youth Radio Initiative - Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR)*
This initiative centres around a youth-led weekly broadcast from a radio
station covering Luang Prabang province. Once a month, the youth radio team
piles onto a rented bus and heads to remote corners of the mountainous
province to perform plays and puppet shows that highlight, for example, the
dangers of preventable diseases like measles.
