Listen to the title track from Duets for Abdelrazik, a musical collaboration
between celebrated jazz saxophonist Matana Roberts and pianist/community
activist Stefan Christoff.
Recorded in 2010 at Hotel2Tango studios in Montreal, on a freezing winter
morning by Thierry Amar, this duet sparked a creative process leading to the
Duets for Abdelrazik album, released on 06/2012 at the Suoni per il Popolo.
Duets for Abdelrazik features the artistic work of community-driven musicians
in Montreal, for a series of beautiful collective compositions, that express
musical solidarity with the struggle of Abousfian Abdelrazik for justice,
attempting to speak artistically to the incredible humanity of Abdelrazik's
struggle against government-driven injustice, torture and imprisonment without
trial.
Matana (mah-tah-nah) Roberts; internationally recognized, chicago born
saxophonist/multidisciplinary sound conceptualist; working in various mediums
of performance inquiry; has created alongside visionary experimentalists of
this time period in various areas of improvisation, dance, poetry, visual art,
theater; as a saxophonist, documented on various sound recordings as
collaborator, side woman and leader. some recent work focused on the
place/problem of memory/tradition as recognized, deciphered, deconstructed,
interrogated through radical modes of sound communication, alternative styles
of musical notation, and multi genres of improvisation; based in new york city.

Jen Reimer and Max Stein create site-specific soundscapes for horn and live
electronics. Their compositions are conceived, composed, rehearsed and

In July 2012, the CRFC launched its new funding program titled *Radiometres:
Measuring the development, participation and sustainability of campus and
community radio stations*. The funding distributed under this program is
provided by Canada's commercial radiobroadcasters through a portion of
their Canadian Content Development (CCD) contributions.
Since 2008, the CRFC also administers the *Radio Talent Development
Program*and the
*Youth Internship Program*. Both were created by Astral Media and are now
run by the CRFC.
In addition to falling under several of the CRFC's program priority
areas<http://www.communityradiofund.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43%3Aprogram-priorities&catid=58%3Aprogram-priorities&Itemid=75&lang=en>,
these three programs aim to achieve the objectives set forth in the CRTC
policy on the development of Canadian content. Therefore, funding must be
dedicated to volunteerism, programming and community participation. Funded
projects must include direct expenses that are allocated to the support,
promotion, training, and development of Canadian music, spoken word, and
journalistic talent.
Funding is available to not-for-profit stations who hold a CRTC-issued
campus, community-based campus, campus instructional, or community (type A
or B) radio broadcasting licence in Canada (as set out in Public Notices
CRTC 2000-12, 2000-13, or 2010-499).
*1. Radiometres: Measuring the development, participation and
sustainability of campus and community radio stations* *Radiometres* has
been created to meet both the requirements of the CRTC and the needs of
campus and community radio sector. In order to do so, the CRFC has
established an outcomes-based approach program. This approach is focused on
funding what the stations need and then measuring how successful they were
in getting there. The program is flexible when it comes to the activities
that are undertaken by the station.
Here are the three outcomes of the program:
1. High-quality, locally-reflective music and spoken word programming
2. Skilled and sustainable volunteer participation in local content
creation and operations
3. Diverse community participation in governance, programming, and content
These three outcomes have been established to reflect some of the key goals
of the campus and community radio sector, the CRTC, and the Canadian
broadcasting system.
*Total funding available*: $1,000,000
*Eligible amounts*: up to $20,000

In July 2012, the CRFC launched its new funding program titled *Radiometres:
Measuring the development, participation and sustainability of campus and
community radio stations*. The funding distributed under this program is
provided by Canada's commercial radiobroadcasters through a portion of
their Canadian Content Development (CCD) contributions.
Since 2008, the CRFC also administers the *Radio Talent Development
Program*and the
*Youth Internship Program*. Both were created by Astral Media and are now
run by the CRFC.
In addition to falling under several of the CRFC's program priority
areas<http://www.communityradiofund.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43%3Aprogram-priorities&catid=58%3Aprogram-priorities&Itemid=75&lang=en>,
these three programs aim to achieve the objectives set forth in the CRTC
policy on the development of Canadian content. Therefore, funding must be
dedicated to volunteerism, programming and community participation. Funded
projects must include direct expenses that are allocated to the support,
promotion, training, and development of Canadian music, spoken word, and
journalistic talent.
Funding is available to not-for-profit stations who hold a CRTC-issued
campus, community-based campus, campus instructional, or community (type A
or B) radio broadcasting licence in Canada (as set out in Public Notices
CRTC 2000-12, 2000-13, or 2010-499).
*1. Radiometres: Measuring the development, participation and
sustainability of campus and community radio stations* *Radiometres* has
been created to meet both the requirements of the CRTC and the needs of
campus and community radio sector. In order to do so, the CRFC has
established an outcomes-based approach program. This approach is focused on
funding what the stations need and then measuring how successful they were
in getting there. The program is flexible when it comes to the activities
that are undertaken by the station.
Here are the three outcomes of the program:
1. High-quality, locally-reflective music and spoken word programming
2. Skilled and sustainable volunteer participation in local content
creation and operations
3. Diverse community participation in governance, programming, and content
These three outcomes have been established to reflect some of the key goals
of the campus and community radio sector, the CRTC, and the Canadian
broadcasting system.
*Total funding available*: $1,000,000
*Eligible amounts*: up to $20,000
*Deadline*: August 21, 2012

Montreal, July 12th, 2012. Since 1994, on August 9th the International Day
of the World's Indigenous People is celebrated around the world. The United
Nations General Assembly marks this particular day to raise awareness on
the serious situation in which are living more than 500 millions of natives
all over the world.
Several indigenous communities are claiming their land right and are
persecuted because of their claims. Their right to use their own language
is prohibited as well very often. Their right to access in equitable
conditions to a community radio station are not respected neither, with the
consequence that they are not heard.
According to what has been decided at the 10th General Assembly (AMARC 10)
of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), we wish
to underline the International Day of the World's Indigenous People by
making available to its members and people at large radio programs on the
different issues related to indigenous peoples and minority languages.
Please send us the program before July 31st.

Please send your audio programs as soon as possible and/or your written

The NCRA Program Exchange is a resource allowing radio producers and
programmers to upload and share radio programs and program audio. The
program can be used to share all kinds of radio programs and radio
resources. Programs can be organized into subject and type categories for
easy finding or searched using a Google-like search engine. And it is free
to use.
