Farm Radio Weekly features ready-to-air news stories on subjects that
matter to
Africaâ's small-scale farmers
Farm Radio International is a Canadian-based organization that supports
broadcasters in Africa to strengthen small-scale farming and rural
communities. The organization works with more than 300 stations in 38
sub-Saharan African countries.
Farm Radio International now offers a news service to broadcasters with
e-mail access â" Farm Radio Weekly (FRW). Interest in FRW is growing
across the African continent! Since FRW was started in December 2007, some
400 African broadcasters, farmers, researchers, academics, and other
interested individuals have subscribed.
What is FRW?
FRW is a weekly electronic newsletter which is e-mailed to subscribers and
published online. It is a compilation of news and information for and
about African small-scale farmers, and other resources for African rural
radio broadcasters. FRW consists of several regular features, including:
agricultural and rural newsstories written in script format so they are
ready to read on-air; ideas on how to explore issues from the news through
further radio programming; information on awards, training opportunities
and resources for broadcasters; updates on the work of Farm Radio
International and its partner organizations; and a featured Farm Radio
International radio script.
