[creative-radio] Filmmaker Seeking Creative Content for MDG #5 New Media Site

SEEKING CREATIVE CONTENT FOR GLOBAL NEW MEDIA SITE

Dear Friends and Fellow Artists,

In collaboration with Grammy-award winning singer, Maya Azucena (www.MayaAzucena.com), I'm developing a global new media project in partnership with various international agencies and artists that blends the creative world with the humanitarian world around the issue of women/motherhood/maternal health and Millennium Development Goal (MDG) #5.

Briefly, it's a new media "mash up" site that houses license-free music, film and spoken word clips by participating artists representing diverse genres, cultures and regions around the world. Users of the site will be able to mash up these clips to create their own advocacy PSAs. The site will be programmed so that these PSA's can be forwarded to networks, policymakers and development institutions. It will be focused around the UN's Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and will be promoted extensively around the international community starting in the fall.

We're looking for creative content contributions of all genres, styles, etc by artists including filmmakers, musicians, DJs, poets, who work at the local and/or international level.

In exchange for your contribution, we will promote you, your work, and your website, distribute your promotional materials at various events and strive to make linkages between two worlds which don't communicate with each other as often as they should, in my opinion.

If you or someone you may know is interested, please contact me at lisa@governessfilms.com and I''ll forward more information and an Artist Invite Letter.

Thanks!

Lisa Russell, Director/Producer

Farm Radio International is a Canadian-based, not-for-profit organization
working in direct partnership with approximately 330 radio broadcasters in
39 African countries to fight poverty and food insecurity. Our materials
are also available electronically to broadcasters and to rural development
organizations in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

What we do – Our program supports broadcasters in meeting the needs of
local small-scale farmers and their families in rural communities, and
helps broadcasters build the skills to develop content that responds to
local needs.

The Network facilitates an exchange of information that:

* is aimed at increasing food supplies and improving nutrition and
health;
* is simple, safe and practical;
* is ecologically sound and environmentally sustainable;
* can be clearly communicated by radio;
* has been proven useful and transferable within the developing world;
* requires only resources ordinarily available to small-scale farmers;
* requires little or no technical help to implement; and
* meets the needs of both women and men.

How we work – Radio is our primary method of communication. We gather and
research information about successful, low-cost practices in sustainable
agriculture, nutrition, health and community development, and produce
radio scripts for our partner-broadcasters and others engaged in rural
development. They, in turn, share the information with an audience of
millions of farmers and their family members around the world.

How to help – Read about our program, current activities, and challenges
facing farmers in Network News. If you want to get involved or have any
questions, we'd like to hear from you.

Unite against colonial injustice  - In memory of the dead victims of
Fortress Europe

From 4 to 6 June 2010 Political Art and Cultural festival of the Caravan
for the rights of the refugees and migrant take place inside the city of
Jena. It is a festival for the lives and victims and in memories of the
dead migrants of the fortress Europe.

With the masquerade parade we want to build a Memorial in the middle of
Europe for the death of thousands of refugees and migrants at the
increasingly deadly and lethal borders of the European Union. Â With it we
want to reaffirm our commitment to our fight for our right to freedom of
movement, social justice and global solidarity.

The Masquerades can and will tell the stories of those, whose stories may
never be told -those burnt alive under mysterious circumstances in police
custody, those shot and killed by the police in various European
countries, those whose lives are meant to be wasted in the inhuman refugee
and asylum camps all over Europe, those forced to be drowned by the
security forces of European countries, those persecuted and criminalized
by the racist police, those suffocated in the process of deportation and
lots more.

Volunteers are urgently needed

We are looking for volunteers with particular attention to Artists such as
painters, sculptors, play writers, theatre performers and media activists,
musicians, actors, art critics, in addition to individuals and activists
from political and cultural groups and social networks who have interest
in being a part of the preparatory activities and mobilization to the
festival.

The 1st Bremen â€" wide preparation meeting will take place on Wednesday,
