Re: [creative-radio] Radio pirates are shut down by police [UK]

Interesting. First it says 'men' were arrested, but this is later amended to 'teenagers'. They are held, and over 45k stg worth of equipment seized, but an adult, a 25 year old woman, is neither held nor charged. One appreciates that some people in the UK are quite well off, but are we expected to believe that these teenagers had enough independent assets to finance 45k stg worth of hardware?

The equipment is being used to 'relay' broadcast material to a remote transmitter, but the news item does not state the grounds on which the police were led to believe (and could convince the magistrate to issue a warrant) that the transmission was effectively controlled from this address.

Needless to say, it also does not specify which other stations suffered 'interference' as a result of this illegal broadcast.
