JANGAN MARAH RECORDS

[creative-radio] Canadian Musicians! Enter the David Suzuki 'Playlist For The Planet' contest

Musicians! Enter the David Suzuki 'Playlist For The Planet' contest.
http://ow.ly/1ZWxW

David Suzuki wants you to... write a song! September 2010 marks our 20th
anniversary. To celebrate, we're launching the *Playlist for the Planet*,
which brings together some of Canada's finest songwriters and performers,
including Joel Plaskett, Bruce Cockburn, Broken Social Scene, k-os, Gordon
Lightfoot, Randy Bachman (with Sarah McLachlan and Nikki Yanofsky), DOA, Tom
Jackson, Johnny Reid, Raffi, LIGHTS, Jessie Farrell, Rush, The Trews, Great
Big Sea, and Tanya Tagaq.

But since a clean, healthy, sustainable planet is something we all need,
we're putting out a Canada-wide call for songwriters of all levels to bring
their talents forward.

If you write songs, play in a band, or have a favourite group, make sure you
join the *Playlist for the Planet* on the CBC Radio 3
website<http://radio3.cbc.ca/#/planet/>— you could even win a Gibson
Guitar from Long & McQuade.

A *Playlist for the Planet* CD and downloadable album will be released by
Universal Music this October, — maybe your song will be part of it. We hope
to emerge with an anthem — a song that will inspire us all!

If you want to hear some songs, upload your songs, or learn more about
the *Playlist
for the Planet*, go to CBC Radio 3. New songs will be coming in all summer,
so stay tuned on our Twitter <http://twitter.com/DavidSuzukiFDN> and
Facebook <http://www.facebook.com/davidsuzuki> pages.

*All entrants must submit songs via the CBC Radio 3
site<http://radio3.cbc.ca/#/planet/>
.*

*We will not accept mailed CDs or music.*

[creative-radio] Together we can end human trafficking - radio spots

Together we can end human trafficking - radio spots

Gender Links, the Red Light 2010 Campaign supported by Oxfam GB, CMFD
Productions, and the National Community Radio Forum are launching a series
of radio programmes on human trafficking. The radio spots have been
developed by to raise awareness about recognising, preventing, and reporting
human trafficking especially during the World Soccer Cup currently under way
in South Africa. Their launch at a youth forum also coincides with Youth
Month in South Africa. 16 June marked the 34th anniversary of the Soweto
student uprisings against apartheid.

The event is part of the broader Score a Goal for Gender Equality campaign
(http://www.genderlinks.org.za/page/soccer-2010 ) that has 28 targets for
the attainment of gender equality by 2015. These include halving gender
violence and specific legislation and measures to curb human trafficking.

Three two-minute spots were produced that address various aspects of human
trafficking. Produced in English, Zulu, SeSotho, Afrikaans, and Siswati,
they are being distributed to community radio stations in South Africa.
Supported by OXFAM GB and the Red Light 2010 Campaign, the spots were also
produced into: Portuguese, French, Changaan, Nyanja, Chichewa, Setswana, and
Shona and are being distributed to stations across Southern Africa. An
accompanying presenter's guide is designed to encourage discussion with
local experts and calls from community members.

In one spot, a young woman's dream job in the big city becomes a nightmare
when she is forced into sex work. In another, a taxi driver realises he did
nothing to prevent a young woman from being trafficked, and vows to never
let it happen again. In the third, two young women recognise a human
trafficker in their midst, thanks to information provided to them through
community outreach.

To listen to the spots online, please visit http://www.genderlinks.org.za/
and click on Radio spots: Say No to Human Trafficking. To request copies for
broadcast, please email radio@genderlinks.org.za
