What WINGS Is . . .
"WINGS is at different times horrifying, exciting, funny, eye-opening and
definitely inspirational.

WINGS: Women's International News Gathering Service is an all-woman
independent radio production company that produces and distributes news
and current affairs programs by and about women around the world. WINGS
programs are used by non-commercial radio stations, women's studies, and
individuals. Programs can be heard on local radio stations, on shortwave,
on the internet, and on cassettes. The WINGS Mailing List provides updates
on stories and new information about women's media.

Women's News Roundup:
Annual one-hour production showcasing the "hottest women's radio news
stories of the year" and presenting the Katherine Davenport Award for
Women's News (DAWN prize).
WINGS Auxiliary Activities:
Conference Recording
WINGS annually records the plenaries of the U.S. National Women's Studies
Association and sells the cassettes. Call or e-mail WINGS to discuss
having your women's event recorded. This service helps support WINGS
radio.
WINGS Audio Production
A limited number of hours are available for editing and distribution for
clients. Books on tape, radio programs, radio adaptations from video. This
service helps support WINGS radio.
WINGS Consulting and Training
Advice and assistance for women in community radio production.
Women's New Hour
Associates of WINGS in Austin, Texas, participate in a local live weekly
cable access TV program showcasing women's activities in current affairs.
WINGS internships
Your college may give you credit for learning and helping with WINGS
productions. Non-credit interns also are welcome.
