correction!We are around 170 residents, Not "75"
Sorry
TheVoiceJena

Refugee Community in Zella-Mehlis demand for the right to live a free life
in Germany

We are calling for solidarity and support!
We want normal housing! Not in the refugee lager - camp
We are the asylum seekers living in Industrie.str 29, Zella Mehlis lager

- We want to tell the world that our situation got worse and worse day
after day, especially in winter, when we suffer the most from the cold.

- We live in an old lager, with old doors, broken windows, mildew
(schimmel) in the rooms, in shower rooms and toilets , corridors, schimmel
is everywhere, a lot got sick, their health
situation getting worse, a lot of families and Babies living in such
terrible conditions.

- The warm water is not stable, and the heating is completely absent from
a long years according to the people who lives here for a long time now ,
rooms are cold , and very cold when temperature gets under -10° c.

- We live in rooms with small ironic beds from the dark ages, we can't
sleep even like human does. the bed's cloths is old, they keep washing it
from few years and giving it back to us every Wednesday.

- We are around 170 residents in this lager, most of us don't get any
money, no voucher for cloths, except voucher for food, which can't be used
to buy anything else except food.

- We cannot get a permission to visit the doctor when we get sick, we get
it when social worker wants to give.

- We are isolated from the world, with all what has the word 'Isolation'
of means.

- We are punished just because we are asylum seekers here in Germany.

with that been said, we are the asylum seekers of zella mehlis demand:

1. This lager TO BE CLOSED, and to live in normal apartments, where we can
have some of our dignity back.

2. We refused to be paid by voucher(gutschein), and to have more rights
for cash money(taschen geld),and cloths.

3. We ask for to be given permission to visit the doctor right when we are
sick, and we refuse to wait for the permission.

4. We ask the socialamt to give the 'green light' to the doctors and the
dentists to have a better examination and treatment.

5. The right for freedom of movement.

6. stop terrorizing people by the deportation subject .and stop deportation.

7. we ask for a better psychological care

8. German authorities claiming, Germany a country of democracy.... .

I ask the authorities a favor ... please, from the problems listed above,
prove to us that we are not 'second class people' !! (untermenschen) .

Looking for the answer, better for the authorities start to think how to
execute our demands, and NOW!!!

Onbehalf of The VOICE Refugee Forum, Karawane for the rights of refugees
and Migrants, Break Idolation Network and with Nation wide Campaign
network for the Abolition of Discriminatory laws against the refugees we
are joining together to demand:

ABOLISH the Lager System

ABOLISH the asylum-seeker benefits law (AsylbLG)!

ABOLISH compulsory residency!

ABOLISH any forms of institutional racism!

ABOLISH all kinds of racist special laws!

ABOLISH forced deportations!

Join with us to fight the right to live free in dnitywith all.
We want to break the isolation! close the refugee Lager-camp in Zella Mehlis!

[creative-radio] Fw: Accent of Women 15 March 2011

Dear friends and colleagues,

Also available on the 3CR site are podcasts of the last few shows - I'm afraid I've been away and not sending out the usual updates. The most recent show, prior to this one, was an IWD special, where we spoke to a woman from the Pacific about women with disabilities, and an upcoming conference, to a woman from Libya about the struggles there and had a discussion about the internet, gender and censorship.

I hope you enjoy!

All the best,

Sonia
Dear all,

This week on Accent of Women, the show consisted of:

Topic: Revolution: Women talk about their hopes for the Middle East

Guests: Various, recorded at a rally for Libya

Produced by: Sonia Randhawa

Music by: Skunk Anansie

While Arab women have been at the forefront of the revolutions,
feminists are worried they'll be left behind when it comes to shaping
the new nations. Sonia Randhawa speaks with three activists on their
hopes for the future of the Middle East and North Africa.

Accent
of Women is a show produced by and about women from culturally and
linguistically diverse backgrounds at 3CR Community Radio in Melbourne.

We air in Melbourne on 3CR- 855AM on Tuesdays at 8.30pm and repeat on the following Tuesdays at 6.30pm.

Accent of Women goes out nationally at 1.32pm every Tuesday afternoon, EST, on the Community Radio Satellite.

If
you're a community station not currently subscribed to Accent of Women,
and would like to subscribe, please do so via the Community Radio
Network's DDN server.

If you have any comments or suggestions
on the show, please contact the producers of Accent of Women on this
email address. The show is also podcast at
http://www.3cr.org.au/podcasts.

Thanks for your support,

Hsin-Yi Lo

Ajing Conga, Bila Pa Ladwar (I Will Strengthen My Knees – The Song of a
Hunter) is a 72-part radio drama and live theatre production produced in
2010 by Lamele Theatre Artists. It is designed to provide people, especially

3. Mbariza Ntore: Pool Synergy Project on the Election in Burundi 2010
This document highlights some of the results of an evaluation conducted by
Radio La Benevolencija to assess the impact and identify lessons learned
from the "Mbariza Ntore" (Kirundi for "inform us so that we can vote")
programme. This programme brought together journalists from 16 different
media houses in Burundi to work collaboratively as a "pool" or network ahead
of the country's 2010 elections. The objective of the project was to enhance
the capacity of citizens to better understand the conditions in which they
are invited to fulfil their political rights. The goals included: assuring

4. Climate Airwaves - Ghana
This pilot project, implemented by AfricaAdapt, Ghana Community Radio
Network (GCRN), and the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters
(AMARC) with technical support from the Institute of Development Studies
(UK), supports three community radio stations in Ghana in developing
effective methods to share the latest climate change research with local
policymakers and local communities. The idea is for a two-way flow of
knowledge and information: the community radios will broadcast new climate
research information to communities in a way that is accessible and
applicable to their circumstances, while at the same time, the communities
can share and report their experiences, which will help inform local
decision-making and research...

improving health and creating a cleaner environment for all Zimbabweans...

RESULTS FROM PREVIOUS POLL:

Community Radio stations are focusing too much on entertainment and not
enough on education and information.

Results:
57% - Agree
22% - Disagree
21% - The balance is just right

Selection of comments received:

"Playing music seems to be an easy option because of the low capacity to
produce programs on information and education."

"Agree. Because of inaduquate funding, lack of skills, the easy and cheap
programmes that can be produced are entertainment and much of that being
playing music and sometimes drama."

"They offer relevant education they don't just generalise they are based in
the community. Then know exactly the needs of that particular community. I
love community radio Stations."

"I don't think this is correct, community radio stations are very effective
information sharing and edutaining medium. Although they struggle with
advertising and programme sponsorship they are doing a good job."

"Agree. I had debated this with different radio stations but the fact
remains that entertainment gets more paid adverts and sponsorship than
education and information."

"From the best of my knowledge, QwaQwa Radio and other community radio
stations I came across maintain a wonderful balance between entertainment
and education. Quest lectures are usually given weekly and different experts
are invited to the radio to come and enlighten students on academic issues."
