the National Campus and Community Radio Conference (NCRC).
Join fellow journalists and media workers to talk about the current state of
alternative and independent media in Canada and around the world. Hour is
hosting this discussion with David Barsamian, an Armenian-American radio
broadcaster, writer, and the founder and director of Alternative Radio, to
create a space for discussion on how we can work together in order to keep
media democratic and diverse.
As a writer, David Barsamian is best known for his series of interviews with
Noam Chomsky, which have been published in book form and translated into many
languages, selling hundreds of thousands of copies worldwide. Barsamian also
published Targeting Iran a book examining both contemporary and historical
Iran-U.S. relations, while Barsamian has also published interviews with
progressive intellectuals such as Arundhati Roy the celebrated Indian author
and activist and the late Eqbal Ahmad Pakistani writer, journalist, and
