[creative-radio] Radio Signal FM (Haiti) Still Transmitting (through Radio Soleil, New York)

Dear Friends,

Some valuable info re radio in Haiti, and/or Haiti-related! Thanks for your caring and concern! Very best wishes, Janet (Feldman,

From: Constantin Severe

I've been able to listen to Radio Signal FM (which I believe is the only radio station still transmitting in Port au Prince) through (NYC based), with Soleil jumping in with their own programming from time to time. Far more illuminating than anything on CNN or any other of the American press.

In the time I've been listening they had a Haitian Senator who was in Parliament during the earthquake. He said the Senate was in session and Senators Jacques Wilbert (Centre) and Michelet Louis (Artibonite) were killed. Senate President Kely Bastien and Joseph Lambert were among the injured, with Lambert pulled out yesterday out of the ruins. House of Deputies was not in session when the earthquake occurred.

Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive is supposed to have a press conference early this afternoon.
